Matt Parsons - North East Melbourne

After working in the optical industry for 11 years I found myself bored and looking for something else in life.
Having been doing the same job since leaving high school at 16 I wasn't sure where to start. I saw an advertisement for a franchise for Jim's fencing and started to investigate

 

Jim's Fencing offered me the support and training required to get my business up and running. Having no official trade skills I found this training exceptionally helpful it gave me the confidence to know I can do this..

2 and half year on I am now married, and have 8 month old little girl. Running my own business gives me the flexibility to still be able to work and have plenty of time to spend with my family.

I look forward to being able to grow my business over the coming years.

After 21 years in Cabinetmaking I had decided I needed a change and a new challenge. After researching many different franchises I came across Jims Fencing and was pleasantly surprised at the support and professionalism I found.

 


Now after being in the system for 12 months I have a great deal of job satisfaction and have enjoyed the feedback and interaction with clients. I have become efficient in most aspects of fencing, and I must say that the support and friendship from Nick Drake, Trainers, and fellow franchisees has been fantastic. Overall I have a more flexible lifestyle and can organize my work to suit my family commitments.

After ten years working in the marine industry, constantly living out of our suitcases, my partner and I decided to take the big step to settle down, become land lubbers and raise a family

We decided to take on the challenge of running our own business and searched for a model that would suit us. After a lot of research, the Jims Group system caught my eye due to the flexibility and ongoing support. More particularly, I was attracted to the fencing division due to the unique work environment and element of creativity involved.

I had not run my own business before, and not knowing a plinth from a paling, I started my fencing business. Three years later, most of my work comes from client referrals and word of mouth. Of course, I have the back up of the Jim’s lead system and the call centre with exceptional branding. I have also experienced excellent support from my franchisors which has been essential in my success.

The flexibility of running my own business has allowed me to spend quality time with my young family and have the ability to chuck my surfboard on the back of the ute if I have finished a job early and the waves are pumping!
